Snooker Highlights

Well, the highlights for several of us may just have been hitting the right ball! Seriously though, there was a good turnout with 10 of us there, including I think three blokes who had not been before which was great! We commandeered 3 tables, and did a sort of round robin doubles series on 2 tables with the other team playing singles. Of course, it's not the winning but the taking part that counts, but I can reveal that in the doubles matches, a total of 657 points were scored (not all from pots; a few might have been fouls! :-) )

There are probably several ways to present the scores but this way might be fair? :

DOUBLES (played, won, points for, points against, difference):
Neil & Gary: P2 W2 F110 A72 D+38
Mark & Mark : P3 W2 F174 A149 D+25
Keith & Douglas: P2 W1 F114 A112 D+2
Gordon & Phil: P2 W1 F118 A131 D-13
Dave & Eric: P3 W0 F141 A193 D-52

SINGLES (frames won):
Gordon 2
Keith 1
Gary 1

There was one abandoned frame, where Neil was ahead (so I'm told).
Unfortunately history does not record the points in the singles frames.

Well done to everyone (especially Keith, playing with an injury...) - it seems clear to me that I should stick to pool... But you never know - next time we all might have improved!

It was another cracking Blogs night with much laughter. Was it just me or did anyone else think we were getting looks from the other tables for being a bit too jovial? Maybe we weren't taking the game seriously enough :)

Imagine we had got kicked out! The local papers would have loved that: "Bampot vicar and cronies ejected from snooker club for being too happy"

Haha, remember the time they called you a bampot vicar Neil?

BAMPOT VICAR, indeed, I feel there might be an interesting story behind this....... do tell Neil.

I think you're right, we were getting some looks!

On the other hand, I thought the quote was "bonkers vicar" - or was that a different occasion? I associate it with the three wise men incident but perhaps I'm just confused...

Quick question: does everyone know about this blog and how to access it?
Cheers Guys

I've sent invitations to everyone who was on the usual email list, as well as sent the link round on emails a couple of times, but Neil's latest email seems to include guys that weren't previously on the list so weren't invited at the time.

I think that if people didn't respond to the email invitations then they may not have seen the emails (junk filters?) so that's why I sent the normal emails too. Also if they didn't respond, the invites will likely have expired so may need to be re-sent (see Settings-Permissions on the Dashboard). Perhaps most of the blokes use email but don't have time/inclination to spend finding out about blogging?

Feel free to spread the word by email or word of mouth, and to go in and send new invitations to people - it's set up so that we all have the same level of access (Admin).

Cheers
Dave
